Carry On Baggage

One can carry a piece of free carry-on luggage and one personal item on the plane. The dimensions of the carry-on luggage or the WestJet carry-on size must be 53*23*38 cm; the WestJet carry-on weight should not be more than 22 pounds. It should be 41 * 15 * 33 cm for personal items. Ensure that the bag you are carrying can easily fit in the overhead bin or under the seat in front of you.

The WestJet baggage weight should be at most 50 pounds and 157 cm or 62 inches in dimension. Passengers will have to pay extra charges for baggage that weighs between 50 to 100 pounds, and the fees charged for these bags would be USD120. And bags that weigh more than 100 pounds will not be accepted as check-in bags but will be sent off as cargo.

What are the fees for baggage?

Yes, you have to pay WestJet baggage fees; the fare type and your destination generally determine the fees. If you are a retired military personnel, being a frequent flyer and having status with the flag carrier also affects you.

The fee for the first bag is 36 USD; for the second bag, it is 60 USD; for the third and each additional bag you carry, it is 118 USD.

      You should contact WestJet first if your luggage is delayed, lost, or damaged. You have up to 21 days to inform WestJet if your luggage is delayed. A WestJet employee will file a report on delayed baggage. You have seven days to report the problem involving damaged luggage.
